António Pinto Ascenção

Nasceu em Loriga em 8 Setembro de 1920, filho de Joaquim Pinto Ascensão e
de Amélia de Jesus Florêncio.
"Mestre Ascensão", como muitos assim o chamavam, foi um dos maiores e mais
conceituados maestros de música de Loriga e até mesmo da região.
Muito novo ainda, e depois de concluir o ensino primário, onde foi
"aprovado com distinção", começou a trabalhar numa das fábricas da
indústria de lanifícios local. Mas foi também desde muito novo que nasceu
nele a paixão pela música e, por isso, em 1935 iniciou a aprendizagem de
música na Banda de Loriga onde foi executante de grande valor até 1948,
ano em que assume pela primeira vez a regência da banda.
Casou em 15 de Junho de 1946 com Maria dos Anjos de Brito Saraiva,
casamento que durou 59 anos, só interrompido com a sua morte. Tiveram nove
filhos, oito ainda vivos. Apesar das dificuldades de então proporcionou a
todos uma educação de nível médio ou superior.
Homem de convicção e de ideias firmes, caracterizava-o o seu espírito de
iniciativa e acção, lutando sempre por aquilo em que acreditava,
principalmente, pela sua terra que tanto adorava. Verdadeiro bairrista e
querendo o melhor para a sua terra, nunca deixou de apresentar soluções e
ideias, tanto de viva voz como através da sua pena nos jornais,
nomeadamente, da região sendo, por vezes, mal compreendido.
Nos anos 50, António Pinto Ascensão, foi pioneiro da exibição de filmes em
Loriga o que, de certa forma, contribuiu para dar novos horizontes aos
jovens, numa altura em que a juventude em Loriga atingia números
significativos. Foi de facto, na época, uma lufada de cultura pois a
maioria da população, principalmente os jovens, não sabiam o que era a
7ª.arte.
Na década de 60, fecha a fábrica Leitão & Irmãos , onde trabalhava como
encarregado de Ultimação. Desempregado e com quase 50 anos de idade, e
todos os filhos a estudar, iniciou uma nova vida, abrindo uma loja em
Loriga, no ramo dos electrodomésticos, situada na "Carreira", tornando-se
um conceituado comerciante muito conhecido na região.
Por várias vezes foi regente da Banda da sua terra (1949/53; 1962/65;
1982/87). Era um inovador por natureza quando assumia a regência de
qualquer Banda, tendo sempre presente a preocupação de arranjar repertório
novo, que tornaria qualquer Banda de música bastante mais rica.
Quando da sua última passagem pela Banda Recreativa Musical de Loriga,
1982/87, foi o grande impulsionador da criação da publicação "A Voz da
Banda" que teve, na altura, uma certa expressão, a qual, depois da sua
saída, deixou de ser publicada.
Ainda nessa altura, e por sua iniciativa, a Banda teve uma Escola de
música, reconhecidamente muito importante, à qual aderiu muita juventude.
Bem como, foi criado em Loriga o grupo "Amanhã", ao qual o mestre Ascensão
deu preciosa ajuda contribuindo no aperfeiçoamento deste grupo de jovens
de cantares tradicionais.
Foi da sua autoria, a introdução do Hino "Ó Padroeira Amorosa" na Festa da
Nossa Senhora da Guia em Loriga, que remonta ao ano de 1950, um arranjo do
original cântico "Ó Padroeira Amorosa" que se cantava e ainda hoje se
canta à Senhora da Nazaré na cidade de Belém-Pará-Brasil.
Sem nunca deixar a sua dedicação à musica foi, durante cerca de 14 anos,
regente da Banda de São Romão, onde desempenhou um trabalho de grande
relevo ainda hoje ali recordado. Regeu também, durante algum tempo, as
Bandas de Torrozelo e Paços da Serra.
Frequentou um curso de Aperfeiçoamento e Didáctica Musical na Fundação
Calouste Gulbenkian onde enriqueceu os seus conhecimentos musicais, que o
habilitaram para dar aulas de Educação musical, primeiro no Externato
Nossa Senhora da Conceição em São Romão e depois na Escola do Ciclo
Preparatório em Loriga.
Foi presidente da Junta de Freguesia de 1972 a 1976, anos problemáticos,
em que os meios financeiros eram escassos, conseguindo levar a efeito
obras de grande vulto, projectando Loriga como Vila mais moderna e, onde a
preocupação ambiental foi sempre presente, tendo nessa altura sido levada
a efeito uma grande campanha de incentivo junto à população, para uma
Loriga mais limpa.
É de registar o facto de que, após a revolução do 25 de Abril de 1974, a
Junta de Freguesia recebeu o voto favorável dos loriguenses numa reunião
realizada no Salão Paroquial, completamente cheio.
Foi o grande impulsionador e um dos fundadores da Associação de Apoio à
Terceira Idade, um carência em Loriga, que apesar de o percurso não ter
sido pacifico, contou sempre com a força e o dinamismo do senhor António
Pinto Ascensão, para prosseguir, e que veio a concretizar-se, com a sua
fundação em 12 de Julho de 1990, sendo uma mais valia para os idosos da
sua terra. Foi o primeiro presidente desta Associação.
O "Mestre Ascensão" era um verdadeiro compositor de peças de cariz
popular, tendo ao longo da sua vida feito recolhas, e passou para o papel
inúmeras cantigas populares que, de outra forma, se teriam perdido.
Em 1988, foi ao maestro António Ascensão que o Etnomusicólogo Michel
Giacometi se dirigiu com o intuito de recolher os cânticos da Ementa das
Almas de Loriga. As gravações foram feitas em 5 de Outubro na Escola
Primária de Loriga.
A sua paixão pela música parecia ocupar todo o seu tempo. Entretanto, e
com mais de setenta anos, "descobriu" o computador para registar dezenas
de obras que graciosamente colocou à disposição das bandas de música da
região, ganhando mesmo vários prémios.
Em 1994, foi autor da letra e da música da marcha de São João,
classificada em primeiro lugar na cidade de Viseu. Em 1997 voltou a
brilhar nesta cidade ao conquistar novamente o primeiro lugar no concurso
das marchas populares de Santo António. A marcha que apresentou ganhou
ainda os prémios para o melhor arranjo musical e para a melhor letra.
Integrado na Associação Humanitária de Paranhos da Beira, o "Mestre
Ascensão" obteve nos anos 2003 e 2004, o primeiro prémio destinado a temas
de canções e poesia entre idosos, que anualmente se realiza nos Concelho
de Seia e Gouveia
No dia 3 de Julho 2003, a convite do Presidente da Câmara Municipal de
Seia, o maestro Ascensão, dirigiu, em simultâneo, sete bandas do concelho
- Loriga, Seia, São Romão, Torrozelo, Tourais, Carragozela e Santa
Marinha, na interpretação de uma marcha da sua autoria, especialmente
composta para esse dia, com o tema "3 de Julho dia de Festa" , dedicado à
inauguração da remodelação do edifício dos Paços do Concelho, e ao mesmo
tempo assinalando as comemorações do XVIII aniversário da elevação de Seia
a cidade.
Em 2005, apresentou em Loriga uma Marcha para as festas de São João. É
também da sua autoria a marcha do Centenário da Banda de Loriga, a
comemorar em Julho de 2006, que a actual Direcção em boa hora lhe pediu
para compor, o que fez com muito prazer e orgulho e que intitulou
"Cavalgando no Futuro".
A última manifestação pública, aconteceu no dia 11 de Outubro 2005, altura
do seu 85º. Aniversário, quando a Banda Filarmónica de Tourais se
deslocou, propositadamente, a Loriga, para lhe fazer uma singela
homenagem, num reconhecimento público, ao trabalho e dedicação do "Mestre
Ascensão" por aquela Banda.
Poucos dias depois de ter completado 85 anos de idade, faleceu em Viseu no
dia 29 de Outubro de 2005, onde se tinha deslocado para um controle de
saúde. O funeral realizou-se em Loriga no dia seguinte, sendo sepultado no
cemitério local.
Terminou assim, a partitura da sua vida recheada de acordes harmoniosos,
pautada pelo rigor e pela disciplina. Uma vida que começou no tear e
acabou no computador, sempre com a harmonia que a música exige.
Loriga viu também partir um dos seus maiores bairristas, ao qual muito
ficou a dever e a quem (qual fado de Loriga) nunca agradeceu, pelo contrário
foi desconsiderado e até maltratado em vida, inclusive pelo então responsável
autárquico conhecido em Loriga por "Zeca Maria".

LORIGA

Loriga (pron.PT [lo’ɾigɐ]) é uma vila e freguesia portuguesa do município de Seia, distrito da Guarda, na província da Beira Alta, região do Centro e sub-região da Serra da Estrela. Tem 36,52 km² de área e 848 habitantes (censo de 2021), a sua densidade populacional é de 23,2
hab./km² e tem uma povoação anexa, o Fontão. Faz parte do Parque Natural da Serra da Estrela. O gentílico é loriguense e ou loricense.
Loriga encontra-se a 20 km de Seia, 80 km da Guarda e 320 km de Lisboa. A vila é acessível pela EN231, e tem acesso direto ao ponto mais
alto da Serra da Estrela pela EN338, estrada concluída em 2006, seguindo um traçado e um projeto pré-existentes décadas antes da
conclusão, com um percurso de 9,2 km de paisagens deslumbrantes, entre as cotas 960 metros na Portela de Loriga (também conhecida
por Portela do Arão) e os 1650 metros, dois quilómetros acima da Lagoa Comprida, onde se liga com a EN339. Esta estrada, conhecida
localmente por Estrada de São Bento, esteve longas décadas para ser concluída e por isso durante muito tempo existiu a situação
aberrante de a vila de Loriga estar próxima da Torre geograficamente (menos de quatro quilómetros em linha reta do ponto mais elevado
da Serra da Estrela) mas a mais de quarenta quilómetros por estrada! Há décadas alguém chamou “Suíça Portuguesa” a Loriga, devido à
sua extraordinária paisagem e localização geográfica. A área urbana mais baixa situa-se nos 770 metros de altitude, incluíndo a parte mais
antiga do centro histórico da vila, e a área urbana mais alta ultrapassa consideravelmente essa cota. A vila está rodeada por montanhas,
das quais se destacam a Penha dos Abutres (1.828 metros de altitude) e a Penha do Gato (1.771 metros), e é abraçada por dois cursos de
água: a Ribeira de Loriga e a Ribeira de São Bento, que se unem depois da E.T.A.R. Além da Ribeira de São Bento, o Ribeiro do Cortiçor é
outro importante afluente que também desagua na Ribeira de Loriga junto da vila. Ao longo do espetacular Vale Glaciar de Loriga, que se
estende desde a Torre até á aldeia de Vide, a Ribeira de Loriga recebe as águas de outros afluentes acabando por se tornar um dos
maiores afluentes do Rio Alva. Além da sua extraordinária beleza o Vale Glaciar de Loriga é considerado como sendo um ponto de grandeinteresse geológico, dominado pelo granito na área de maior altitude, sendo a Garganta de Loriga um grande ponto de referência, e
passando depois para a área mais baixa que é dominada pelo xisto. A área do vale onde é feita a transição do granito para o xisto inclui a
localização da colina entre as ribeiras de Loriga e de São Bento onde está localizado o centro histórico da vila, e esse facto ajuda a explicar as consequências desastrosas do terramoto de 1755.

Toponímia

A rua da Oliveira é uma rua situada no centro histórico da vila. A sua escadaria tem cerca de 100 degraus em granito, o que lhe dá
características peculiares. Esta rua recorda muitas das características urbanas medievais do centro histórico da vila de Loriga e que se
perderam ao longo dos séculos. O bairro de São Ginês e ou São Genês (alcunhas em substituição do nome São Gens) é um bairro do
centro histórico de Loriga cujas características o tornam num dos bairros mais conhecidos e típicos da vila. As melhores festas de São
João eram feitas aqui. Curioso é o facto de este bairro do centro histórico da vila dever o nome a São Gens, um santo de origem céltica
martirizado em Arles, na Gália, no tempo do imperador Diocleciano, e orago de uma ermida visigótica situada na área (a atual capela de
Nossa Senhora do Carmo). Com o passar dos séculos, os loriguenses mudaram o nome do santo para São Ginês e ou São Genês, esta
alcunha talvez tenha surgido por a palavra ser mais fácil de pronunciar, tendo também a ver com as singularidades linguísticas de Loriga e
o local uso massivo de alcunhas ás quais nem os santos escapavam. Aliás nunca existiu qualquer santo com o nome Ginês ou Genês, e
Loriga é conhecida pelas suas singularidades linguísticas e pelo uso massivo de alcunhas. Este núcleo da povoação, que já esteve separado
do principal e mais antigo, situado mais abaixo, é anterior à chegada dos romanos. Dadas as suas caraterísticas é possível que outrora
existisse ali um local de culto pagão que os visigodos escolheram para erigirem a ermida dedicada a São Gens, na época era uma ermida
porque estava separada da povoação que existia mais abaixo. A atual aparência da capela e a data gravada na fachada induzem em erro os
visitantes porque correspondem á última reconstrução efetuada, e além disso não existe ali qualquer lápide que informe sobre a
antiguidade deste local de culto nem sobre o antigo orago da capela. Além dessa informação devia ser colocada na capela uma imagem
de São Gens, o antigo orago e o santo que inexplicavelmente foi desprezado e esquecido pelos loriguenses.

História

Festas e Tradições

Ao longo do ano celebram-se de maneira especial o Natal, a Páscoa (com a Amenta das Almas, cantos noturnos masculinos, que evocam
as almas de entes falecidos por altura da Quaresma), festas em honra de Santo António (durante o mês de Junho) e de São Sebastião (no
último Domingo de Julho), com as respectivas mordomias e procissões. Porém, o ponto mais alto das festividades religiosas é a festa
dedicada à padroeira dos emigrantes de Loriga, Nossa Senhora da Guia, que se realiza todos os anos, no primeiro Domingo de Agosto. No
segundo Domingo, tem lugar a festa em honra de Nossa Senhora da Ajuda, no Fontão de Loriga. A propósito sublinha-se o facto de que a
padroeira de Loriga e dos loriguenses é Santa Maria Maior, e por isso é o orago da igreja matriz e da paróquia pelo menos desde o século
XIII. Torna-se necessário este sublinhado porque alguns ignorantes e mentirosos começaram erradamente a dizer e a escrever por aí que a
padroeira de Loriga é Nossa Senhora da Guia. É uma das muitas mentiras que espalham por aí induzindo outros em erro, e que inclusive
foi colocada com outras mentiras no artigo sobre Loriga na Wikipédia quando o artigo foi vandalizado (o artigo foi criado pelo historiador
António Conde). A fé não é uma questão de modas, e os santos, as devoções e as invocações não são coisas descartáveis que por um
qualquer capricho são trocados, desprezados e esquecidos. Há mais de oitocentos anos que a padroeira de Loriga e dos Loriguenses é
Santa Maria Maior, e esse facto é uma questão de fé, é uma questão de devoção, é uma questão de verdade, é uma questão de história, e
é uma questão de respeito pela identidade histórica de Loriga. Alguns estão apostados em fazer esquecer a invocação de Santa Maria
Maior e esta muito antiga devoção, tal como outros no passado quiseram fazer desaparecer a milenar e muito antiga devoção a São Gens
que condenaram ao esquecimento, ao ponto de mudarem o orago da sua capela e de nem sequer existir ali uma imagem deste santo nem
qualquer informação sobre o antigo orago da capela, além de lhe terem arranjado as alcunhas de Ginês e de Genês.[ A Imagem de Nossa
Senhora da Guia, padroeira dos emigrantes de Loriga, exibe a estrela, um dos símbolos maiores desta vila e que também por isso está no
brasão de Loriga, além de tudo o resto Loriga está situada na Serra da Estrela, é uma estrela nesta serra, e há mais de oitocentos anos
que a estrela de sete pontas é um símbolo de Loriga. A padroeira de Loriga e dos loriguenses é Santa Maria Maior, e por isso é o orago da
igreja matriz e da paróquia, e já era assim o século XIII. Uma das muitas mentiras espalhadas pelos idiotas ignorantes mentirosos é aquela
segundo a qual a padroeira de Loriga e dos loriguenses é Nossa Senhora da Guia, e essa mentira foi inclusive colocada no artigo sobreLoriga na Wikipedia quando o artigo foi vandalizado. O artigo sobre Loriga na Wikipedia, nas versões em português e em inglês, foi criado pelo historiador António Conde e não é por acaso que os dois motivos principais para o vandalismo foram a introdução da ilegal
aberração heráldica, ali mentirosamente apresentada como sendo o brasão legal e oficial de Loriga, e a eliminação das fontes de tudo o
que apontasse para o autor do artigo. Esta gente farisaica, pseudoreligiosa é também a mesma que é responsável pela vergonhosa
questão da heráldica que há décadas arrasa a imagem de Loriga e a imagem dos Loriguenses. A fé não é uma questão de modas, e os
santos, as devoções e as invocações não são coisas descartáveis que por um qualquer capricho são trocados, substituídos, desprezados e
esquecidos. Há mais de oitocentos anos que a padroeira de Loriga e dos loriguenses é Santa Maria Maior, e esse facto é uma questão de
fé, é uma questão de devoção, é uma questão de verdade, é uma questão de história e é uma questão de respeito pela identidade
histórica de Loriga! A fé e a devoção a Nossa Senhora da Guia não implica suprimir a fé, suprimir a verdade, desrespeitar e deturpar a
história, desprezar e desrespeitar a identidade histórica de Loriga, nem implica desprezar e desrespeitar a fé e a devoção dos
antepassados dos loriguenses e a escolha que eles fizeram para sua padroeira e para orago da paróquia e da igreja matriz. Mais algum
tempo e esse tipo de gente arranja uma alcunha para Santa Maria Maior, fazem desaparecer a imagem e mudam o orago da paróquia e da
igreja matriz. Daqui a uns anos ou séculos alguém se lembra de introduzir uma nova devoção aqui em Loriga, fazem uma nova capela,
começam a fazer umas festas em honra dessa nova devoção e então fazem mais uma troca, e talvez o destino seja o desprezo, o
esquecimento e uma alcunha, tal como esse tipo de gente fez a São Gens ao qual deram as alcunhas de Ginês e de Genês! De forma
farisaica este tipo de gente despreza os fundamentos da fé e age como tal, mas exibe-se em eventos religiosos e até usam o pároco para
que todos a vejam fazendo de tudo para usar a fé para manipular e instrumentalizar os loriguenses para benefíficio dos seus interesses e
motivações mesquinhas pessoais, e até a vergonhosa questão da heráldica foi usada para esse efeito, como exemplos veja-se o
vergonhoso Brasão da Vila de Cruz, de 2002 (rejeitado pelos loriguenses, tal como o ainda mais vergonhoso Brasão da Vila de Carreto, de
2018, e se alguém tiver dúvidas façam um referendo), o postal de Natal de 2024, etc. É este tipo de gente farisaica e hipócrita que, com as suas más ações e o seu mau exemplo, fazem com que os outros percam a sua fé, e é este tipo de gente que afugenta as pessoas das
igrejas e de tudo quanto são práticas religiosas. Aliás, os ignorantes que infelizmente nasceram aqui nesta bela e histórica vila, são
especialistas em maltratar a imagem desta vila e a imagem dos seus conterrâneos, e em colocar tudo em causa; Colocam em causa a
padroeira de Loriga e dos Loriguenses e orago da paróquia e da Igreja Matriz, a antiguidade de Loriga (inclusive do seu estatuto de vila e
da sua indústria têxtil), o seu nome e a forma como se pronuncia (os BURROS dizem que se pronuncia luriga), a sua história, o seu
património, o local da fundação da povoação, o seu gentílico, a sua heráldica, a data da fundação das instituições loriguenses, etc. E o
pároco, que se deixou e deixa manipular e intimidar por este tipo de gente, nada faz para repor e impor a verdade e acabar com esta
vergonhosa questão da padroeira criada pelos burros de Loriga e, ainda a propósito da defesa do património desta vila, nada faz para, por
exemplo, valorizar a antiga ermida visigótica de São Gens (atual capela de Nossa Senhora do Carmo) colocando ali uma imagem de São
Gens e uma lápide para informar os fieis e os turistas sobre a antiguidade e o antigo orago deste templo. Isto não é novo, outros clérigos
foram responsáveis, por exemplo, pela demolição da antiga capela de Santo António (com origens no século XIV) e impediram a
construção de uma nova capela, foram responsáveis por desastrosas intervenções na Igreja Matriz, que reduziram o valor patrimonial
deste templo construído no século XIII, etc. ]
Normalmente todas as localidades têm uma padroeira ou um padroeiro, e esse santo ou santa é o orago da paróquia e da igreja matriz,
isto é daquelas coisas básicas que toda a gente devia saber mas os burros de Loriga não sabem (e o pároco, o bispo da diocese da Guarda
e o cardeal patriarca de Lisboa nada fizeram nem fazem para impedir nem para acabar com estas vergonhas). No caso de Loriga a
padroeira é Santa Maria Maior, orago da paróquia e da igreja matriz que já vem pelo menos desde o início da nacionalidade quando Lorigapertencia ao chamado Padroado Real, não é por acaso que, por exemplo, a Sé de Lisboa também é dedicada a Santa Maria Maior e que a
igreja matriz de Loriga tenha sido mandada construir pelo rei D. Sancho II. Quando a devoção a Nossa Senhora da Guia chegou aqui a
Loriga na segunda metade do século XIX, trazida por emigrantes radicados no Brasil, Santa Maria Maior já era a padroeira de Loriga há
mais de seiscentos anos, e Nossa Senhora da Guia foi sempre e só invocada como padroeira dos emigrantes de Loriga, no entanto alguns
idiotas começaram a dizer e a espalhar por aí que a padroeira de Loriga é Nossa Senhora da Guia. Isto é grave porque os loriguenses ficam
com a fama de desprezarem a história de Loriga e de trocar e de condenar ao esquecimento padroeiros, santos, devoções e invocações,
com a agravante de já haver precedentes, como é o caso, por exemplo, da milenar devoção a São Gens, cuja capela foi dedicada a Nossa
Senhora do Carmo, arranjaram a alcunha de Ginês e de Genês ao santo, e para completarem o anátema não existe no local nenhuma
informação sobre o antigo orago da capela, e o local onde essa capela está situada é conhecido por Bairro de São Ginês e ou São Genês,
nunca existiu um santo chamado Ginês ou Genês e esses nomes são invenção dos loriguenses. Poderia também falar-se de outros casos,
como por exemplo do caso de São Bento, desse ficou apenas o nome da ribeira e da área onde existiu uma ermida que desapareceu, mas
pelo menos não lhe arranjaram uma alcunha como fizeram com o São Gens. Há quem, por pura ignorância ou, pior ainda, por teimosia e
por animosidade contra quem sabe mais e diz as verdades, teimam em não respeitar a história nem a identidade histórica de Loriga, e é
esse tipo de gente que é responsável por várias vergonhas que afetam a imagem de Loriga e a imagem dos loriguenses, como é o caso da
vergonhosa questão da heráldica que dura há décadas e que se mantém (Ver aqui essa vergonha!). De forma farisaica este tipo de gente
despreza os fundamentos da fé e age como tal, mas exibe-se em eventos religiosos e até usam o pároco para se exibirem fazendo de tudo
para usar a fé para manipular e instrumentalizar os loriguenses para benefício dos seus interesses e motivações mesquinhas pessoais, e
até a vergonhosa questão da heráldica foi usada para esse efeito, como exemplos veja-se o vergonhoso Brasão da Vila de Cruz, de 2002
(rejeitado pelos loriguenses, tal como o ainda mais vergonhoso Brasão da Vila de Carreto, de 2018, e se alguém tiver dúvidas façam um
referendo), o postal de Natal de 2024, etc. É este tipo de gente farisaica e hipócrita que, com as suas más ações e o seu mau exemplo,
fazem com que os outros percam a sua fé, e é este tipo de gente que afugenta as pessoas das igrejas e de tudo quanto são práticas
religiosas. A fé e a devoção a Nossa Senhora da Guia não implica suprimir a fé, suprimir a verdade, desrespeitar e deturpar a história,
desprezar e desrespeitar a identidade histórica de Loriga, nem implica desprezar e desrespeitar a fé e a devoção dos antepassados dos
loriguenses e a escolha que eles fizeram para sua padroeira e para orago da paróquia e da igreja matriz. Aliás, os ignorantes que
infelizmente nasceram nesta bela e histórica vila, são especialistas em maltratar a imagem desta vila e a imagem dos seus conterrâneos, e
em colocar tudo em causa; Colocam em causa a padroeira de Loriga e dos Loriguenses e orago da paróquia e da Igreja Matriz, a
antiguidade de Loriga (inclusive do seu estatuto de vila e da sua indústria têxtil), o seu nome e a forma como se pronuncia (os BURROS
dizem que se pronuncia luriga), a sua história, o seu património, o local da fundação da povoação, o seu gentílico, a sua heráldica, a data da fundação das instituições loriguenses, etc. Em vez de reconhecerem os erros e resolverem os problemas de Loriga de forma
competente, insistem numa fuga em frente e a única preocupação que têm é fazerem de tudo para calarem as incomodativas vozes da
razão que os desmascaram. Esses ignorantes e esses irresponsáveis não gostam verdadeiramente de Loriga e por isso acham que são
pormenores sem importância, se gostassem de Loriga agiriam de forma diferente. Qualquer dia alquém se lembra de introduzir aqui em
Loriga uma nova devoção e uma nova capela, começam a fazer umas festas, e daqui a uns anos esse tipo de gente faz a “promoção” para
novo padroeiro ou padroeira de Loriga, depois arranjam uma alcunha para a Santa Maria Maior e ou para a Nossa Senhora da Guia, como
arranjaram para o São Gens (nem os santos escapam ás alcunhas). Com o desprezo que essa gente tem pela história de Loriga e pelos
fundamentos da fé, é fácil fazerem a alteração e substituirem a padroeira e o orago da igreja matriz e da paróquia, só têm que falar com o
cardeal patriarca, com o bispo da diocese e com o pároco (todos estes clérigos também são responsáveis por todas estas vergonhas).Apesar de não gostarem há mais de oitocentos anos que a padroeira de Loriga e dos Loriguenses é e vai continuar a ser Santa Maria

Esta informação estúpida e errada sobre a padroeira de Loriga e dos Loriguenses não foi a única que foi introduzida pelos vândalos
mentirosos no artigo sobre Loriga na Wikipedia criado pelo historiador António Conde. Introduziram no artigo a ilegal aberração
heráldica, erradamente ali apresentada como sendo o brasão legal e oficial de Loriga, justificando tal “informação” com o facto de ser
usado como tal pela Junta de Freguesia de Loriga, e apesar de saberem dessa mentira até porque foram informados da mesma. Aliás,
numa primeira fase os vândalos da Wikipedia foram enganados pelos mentirosos “loriguenses” defensores desta e das outras vergonhas,
depois em vez de corrigirem os erros enveredaram por uma fuga em frente, e bloquearam o artigo para impedirem as correções dessas
vergonhas desprezando a imagem da Wikipedia, a imagem de Loriga e a imagem dos Loriguenses. Ironicamente contribuiram para arrasar
a imagem dos tais “loriguenses” que têm prejudicado a imagem de Loriga e a imagem dos seus conterrâneos, e a cereja em cima do bolo
foi quando mais tarde, de forma cínica, mentirosa e contraditória, escreveram no artigo que a aberração heráldica “foi usada durante
alguns anos de forma informal pelas instituições de Loriga” quando, os vândalos escreveram antes no artigo, que essa ilegal aberração
heráldica é a heráldica legal e oficial usada há décadas em Loriga. A introdução da ilegal aberração heráldica (que nunca foi nem jamais
poderia ser o brasão oficial de Loriga, apesar da inútil e criminosa imposição e teimosia), e a eliminação das fontes de tudo o que
apontasse para o autor do artigo (o historiador António Conde) foram os dois motivos principais usados para a vandalização do artigo. E a
propósito das fontes do artigo, um fator importante que ajudou a desmascarar os vândalos, as suas motivações e quem estava por detrás
deles, é também o facto de ter sido colocado nas fontes um “loriguense” residente na Alemanha (conhecido em Loriga por Fariseu Alemão) que nada tem a ver a ver com o artigo, e que tem o hábito de roubar os créditos alheios, inclusive publicando conteúdos alheios como se fossem seus, sem referir os autores dos mesmos, que nada tem a ver com o artigo sobre Loriga na Wikipedia mas que há décadas defende a ilegal aberração heráldica usando os meios mais sujos e alguns até ilegais, mas não fez nada quando os seus amigos quiseram impor os vergonhosos brasões da Vila de Cruz (de 2002) e da Vila de Carreto (de 2018), confirmando e demonstrando que a sua defesa da ilegal aberração heráldica nunca teve motivações nobres. Aliás, quem prejudica Loriga, a imagem da sua terra e a imagem dos seus conterrâneos em nome de ódios, invejas e outras motivações mesquinhas pessoais (e o que acontece há décadas com a vergonhosa questão da heráldica é apenas um dos casos - loricae files wordpress com/2026/02/adelino-pina-fariseu-alemao-escumalha-e-gentalha-que-prejudica-loriga.pdf ) merece todo o tipo de adjetivos e alcunhas! Escreveram no artigo que Nossa Senhora da Guia é a padroeira de Loriga e dos Loriguenses, apagaram o gentílico Loricense por acharem ser insultuoso e inexistente, escreveram que Loriga se pronuncia luriga, etc. Os comentários colocados nas páginas de “discussão”, alguns entretanto e convenientemente apagados, são elucidativos da estupidez, da ignorância, das motivações e da identidade de quem os fez, e são também uma prova de que essa gente, incluindo os vândalos da Wikipedia, tem muita dificuldade em lidar com a verdade. Aliás, esses vândalos bloquearam o artigo sobre Loriga para impedirem a correção das mentiras que introduziram, exatamente porque esses vândalos são mentirosos, não sabem lidar com a verdade e têm medo de serem desmascarados. A Wikipedia ficou muito mal vista por ter permitido e continuar a permitir todas estas vergonhas, e os defensores da ilegal aberração heráldica usaram todos os meios para maltratarem quem sempre defendeu a imagem de Loriga.

Coletividades

Está dotada de uma ampla gama de infraestruturas físicas e sócio-culturais, que abrangem todos os grupos etários, das quais se
destacam, por exemplo, o Grupo Desportivo Loriguense, fundado em 1934, a Sociedade Recreativa e Musical Loriguense, fundada em
1905, os Bombeiros Voluntários de Loriga, criados em 1982, cujos serviços ultrapassam as fronteiras da freguesia e abrangem a área
outrora pertencente ao Concelho de Loriga, a Casa de Repouso Nossa Senhora da Guia, uma das últimas obras sociais de relevo, e a Escola
C+S/EB2+3 Dr. Reis Leitão. Em Março de 2007 iniciaram-se as obras do novo quartel dos Bombeiros Voluntários, obras entretanto
concluídas com atraso devido a adiamentos provocados por problemas de subfinanciamento.

História resumida de Loriga

Situada na parte Sudoeste da Serra da Estrela, a beleza paisagística de Loriga é o seu principal atrativo de referência. Os socalcos e sua
complexa rede de irrigação são um dos grandes ex-libris de Loriga, uma obra gigantesca construída pelos loriguenses ao longo de muitas
centenas de anos e que transformou um vale belo, mas rochoso, num vale fértil. É uma obra que ainda hoje marca a paisagem do
belíssimo Vale de Loriga, fazendo parte do património histórico da vila e é demonstrativa do génio dos seus habitantes.

Topónimo

O nome veio da localização estratégica da povoação, do seu protagonismo e dos seus habitantes nos Hermínios (atual Serra da Estrela) na
resistência lusitana, o que levou os romanos a porem-lhe o nome de Lorica (antiga couraça guerreira). Deste nome derivou Loriga
(derivação iniciada pelos Visigodos) e que tem o mesmo significado, no entanto o nome latino Lorica só caíu em desuso no século XIII e as
Inquirições de D. Afonso III são os primeiros documentos conhecidos onde esta vila aparece referida como Loriga. Nos documentos
anteriores a essas inquirições Loriga é sempre referida como Lorica, exceto num documento da época visigótica mas neste é afirmado
que os romanos deram o nome de Lorica á povoação e que os visigodos passaram a conhecê-la também por Loriga. No entanto o
topónimo Loriga (a derivação do nome romano (latim) Lorica), caíu em desuso desde a conquista islâmica até ao século XIII e durante esse
período prevaleceu a forma latina original (Lorica), aliás, as inquirições de D. Afonso III são o mais importante dos primeiros documentos
onde reapaparece a derivação visigótica do nome (Loriga), nos documentos anteriores, início do século XIII e séculos XII, XI, X e IX aparece sempre como Lorica. A história, a filologia e a etimologia dizem que Loriga é nome de couraça e que deriva do latim Lorica que tem
exatamente o mesmo significado, um nome que por si é significativo da antiguidade e da história de Loriga, um nome bonito que orgulha
os verdadeiros Loriguenses (os outros, uma pequena e conhecida minoria, odeiam o nome e também por isso não gostam de ver a Loriga
no brasão nem no logotipo da vila), e que é único em Portugal, factos que ajudam a justificar que a couraça seja a peça central do brasão
da vila, tal como é do logotipo também escolhido pela Junta de Freguesia de Loriga.

Geologia

A formação geológica do Vale de Loriga, onde está situada a vila com o mesmo nome, está diretamente relacionada com a formação da
própria Serra da Estrela e por isso uma coisa não se pode dissociar da outra. Para que se entenda melhor, é necessário saber como se
formou a Serra da Estrela e nela o espaço que hoje abrange a freguesia de Loriga. Loriga é uma das localidades mais antigas, mais belas e
mais importantes da Serra da Estrela, uma verdadeira estrela da serra onde está situada. A Serra da Estrela faz parte da forte identidade
de Loriga, esta vila está situada perto do ponto mais alto da serra e a única estância de esqui existente em Portugal está localizada em
Loriga, tudo isto ajuda a justificar que uma estrela de ouro seja uma das peças do brasão desta vila.

Origens da povoação

Loriga foi fundada originalmente no alto de uma colina entre ribeiras onde hoje existe o centro histórico da vila. O local foi escolhido há mais de dois mil e seiscentos anos devido à facilidade de defesa (uma colina entre ribeiras), à abundância de água e de pastos, bem como ao facto de as terras mais baixas providenciarem alguma caça e condições mínimas para a prática da agricultura. Desta forma estavam
garantidas as condições mínimas de sobrevivência para uma população e povoação com alguma importância.Antes da nacionalidade
Em termos de património histórico, destacam-se a ponte e a estrada romanas (século I a.C.), uma sepultura antropomórfica (século VI
a.C.), a Igreja Matriz (século XIII, reconstruída), o Pelourinho (século XIII,reconstruído), o Bairro de São Ginês (São Gens) com origem
anterior à chegada dos romanos e a Rua de Viriato, herói lusitano que a tradição local encontra origem nesta antiquíssima povoação. A
Rua da Oliveira, pela sua peculiaridade, situada na área mais antiga do centro histórico da vila, recorda algumas das caraterísticas urbanas da época medieval.A tradição local e diversos antigos documentos apontam Loriga como berço de Viriato, e no início do século XX existiu mesmo um movimento loricense para lhe erigir uma estátua na vila, e que infelizmente não chegou a concretizar-se. O documento mais
conhecido, embora não seja o mais antigo, que fala da tradição de Loriga ser apontada como terra-natal de Viriato, é o livro manuscrito
História da Lusitânia, escrito pelo Bispo Mor do Reino em 1580. O livro manuscrito História da Lusitânia, do Bispo Mor do Reino, 1580,
está entre os diversos documentos que falam de Loriga como berço de Viriato, este é o mais curioso, havendo outros sendo que o mais
antigo conhecido data de 1139. Chegou a haver um projeto de construção de um monumento a Viriato em Loriga, uma ideia que
infelizmente não se concretizou, mas a antiga e documentada tradição que liga Loriga a Viriato é recordada no nome da principal rua da
área mais antiga do centro histórico da vila, e mais recentemente no evento Loriga Vila Lusitana, inspirado na obra e nas ideias do
historiador António Conde. Os que desprezam, desdenham e ignoram a rica história de Loriga e o seu património chegam ao ponto de
mostrarem vergonha pela associação de Loriga a Viriato, e pela hipótese deste grande heroi lusitano/português ter nascido em Loriga
(Exijo uma certidão de nascimento! – vociferou um deles, que faz questão de dizer que frequentou o ensino superior. Tamanha estupidez
nunca se viu, por exemplo, em Viseu.), essa vergonha ficou bem expressa por exemplo na Wikipedia e não é por acaso que essa mesma
gente tem vergonha do nome da sua terra por ser nome de couraça, aliás alguns até negam que Loriga seja nome de couraça, e por isso
não gostam de ver a Loriga no brasão nem no logotipo desta vila. É esta gente que acha que um carreto (roda dentada) é o símbolo maior
de Loriga e que como tal deve substituir a couraça (Loriga) no brasão desta vila, obviamente a esmagadora maioria dos Loriguenses não
concordam com isso, e passaram a conhecer esse brasão por Brasão da Vila de Carreto e o idiota que o idealizou (incluído nesta referida
gente) passou a ser conhecido por Doutor de Albarda (é outro mau exemplo de quem frequentou o chamado ensino superior - loricae files wordpress com/2026/05/historia-do-brasao-de-loriga.pdf, bocasmacao blogs sapo pt/29094.html?page=5#comentarios ). A atual
Rua de Viriato, na parte mais antiga do centro histórico da vila, no troço compreendido entre as antigas sedes do G.D.L. e da Casa do
Povo, corresponde exatamente a parte da linha defensiva da antiga povoação lusitana.A estrada romana e uma das duas pontes, a Ponte
Romana ainda existente sobre a Ribeira de Loriga, e com as quais os romanos ligaram Lorica, pertencente à então Lusitânia, ao restante
império, merecem destaque. A outra ponte romana existia sobre a Ribeira de São Bento, ruiu no século XVI após uma grande cheia, e
estava situada aproximadamente no mesmo local onde atualmente existe a ponte que ficou conhecida por Ponte do Arrocho, construída
em finais do século XIX. Anexa á Ponte do Arrocho (que os ignorantes confundem com a Ponte Romana existente sobre a Ribeira de
Loriga) fica a Rua do Porto, uma das ruas da vila de Loriga que tiveram origem na Estrada Romana. Além de confundirem a Ponte do
Arrocho (e os factos com ela relacionados) com a Ponte Romana, os ignorantes colocaram em causa a antiguidade desta ponte (até a
chamaram ponte nova como se esta ponte tivesse alguma coisa de novo) e para cúmulo, tentando estupidamente fundamentar as suas
ideias, até inventaram uma estúpida teoria de uma Ponte Lego (conclui-se que a Lego (passa-se a publicidade) é uma marca e uma criação
romanas em que as peças eram em pedra) como se a construção de uma ponte em alvenaria fosse a mesma coisa que construír o muro de
suporte de uma Courela (nome dado em Loriga a um socalco). Quem tem pelo menos uma mínima ideia das especificidades que envolvem
a construção de uma ponte em pedra, começando pelo arco, ri ás gargalhadas quando lê esta estúpida teoria e chama nomes
desagradáveis a quem a inventou. Esta gente invejosa, na ânsia de contrariar e de tentar apagar a obra dos alvos da sua inveja recorre a
tudo, não se importando com o facto de pelo caminho estarem a prejudicar a imagem da sua terra e a imagem dos seus conterrâneos, e como não têm neurónios nem conhecimentos suficientes para inventarem teorias credíveis acabam por ficar mal vistos, sendo que esta
idiotíce é apenas uma de uma longa lista de casos em que esta gente coloca tudo em causa, desde o nome da sua terra até á história, ao
património e á heráldica desta bela, antiga e histórica vila. O Bairro de São Ginês e ou Genês (alcunhas dadas pelos loriguenses a São
Gens) é um ex-libris de Loriga e nele destaca-se a capela de Nossa Senhora do Carmo, uma antiga ermida visigótica precisamente
dedicada àquele santo. São Gens é um santo de origem céltica, martirizado em Arles na Gália,no tempo do imperador Diocleciano. Com o
passar dos séculos, os loriguenses mudaram o nome do santo para São Ginês, talvez por ser mais fácil de pronunciar. Quando os romanos
chegaram, a povoação estava dividida em dois núcleos. O maior, mais antigo e principal, situava-se na área onde hoje existem a Igreja
Matriz e parte da Rua de Viriato e estava fortificado com muralhas e paliçada. No local do atual Bairro de São Ginês (alcunha dada pelos
loricenses a São Gens) existiam já algumas habitações encostadas ao promontório rochoso, em cima do qual os Visigodos construíram
mais tarde uma ermida dedicada àquele santo, e que atualmente é dedicada a Nossa Senhora do Carmo.

Do século XII à atualidade

Loriga teve a categoria de sede de concelho desde o século XII, tendo recebido forais em 1136 (João Rhânia, senhorio das Terras de
Loriga durante cerca de duas décadas, no reinado de D. Afonso Henriques), 1249 (D. Afonso III), 1474 (D. Afonso V) e 1514 (D. Manuel I).
Apoiou os Absolutistas contra os Liberais na guerra civil portuguesa, no século XIX e esse facto contribuíu para deixar de ser sede de
concelho em 1855, após a aplicação do plano de ordenamento territorial levado a cabo durante o século XIX, curiosamente o mesmo
plano que deu origem aos Distritos. Loriga é uma paróquia antiga, outrora pertencente à Diocese Egitanense na época visigótica, no início
da nacionalidade pertencia á Vigariaria do Padroado Real e a Igreja Matriz foi mandada construir, em 1233, pelo rei D. Sancho II. Esta
igreja, cujo orago era o de Santa Maria Maior, e que se mantém, foi construída no local de outro antigo e pequeno templo visigótico,
também dedicado a Nossa Senhora, do qual foi aproveitada uma pedra com inscrições visigóticas, que está colocada na porta lateral
virada para o adro, foi nessa pedra que gravaram a data da construção (1233). De estilo românico, com três naves, com dimensões
idênticas ás atuais, e traça exterior lembrando a Sé Velha de Coimbra, esta igreja foi destruída pelo sismo de 1755, dela restando apenas
partes das paredes laterais e outra alvenaria. Agora que a igreja matriz está liberta do reboco exterior que infelizmente durante muitos
anos a cobriu, a alvenaria ajuda a revelar a antiguidade e as alterações feitas ao longo dos mais de oitocentos anos de história deste
templo, incluíndo as alterações mais drásticas efetuadas após o terramoto de 1755. O sismo de 1755 provocou enormes estragos na vila,
tendo arruinado também a residência paroquial e aberto algumas fendas nas robustas e espessas paredes do edifício da Câmara
Municipal construído no século XIII. Um emissário do Marquês de Pombal esteve em Loriga a avaliar os estragos mas, ao contrário do que
aconteceu com a Covilhã, outra localidade serrana muito afetada, não chegou do governo de Lisboa qualquer auxílio.Loriga é uma vila
industrial, ligada ao sector têxtil, desde a primeira metade do século XIX, sendo a evolução de uma atividade que já existia em moldes
artesanais no século XIII. As primeiras fábricas começaram a funcionar em intalações já existentes e entretanto adaptadas e que foram
evoluíndo até que foram construídas as primeiras fábricas de raíz. É necessário sublinhar que as antigas instalações industriais eram
grandes edifícios construídos em alvenaria que com os meios existentes na época eram de morosa conclusão e os maiores foram quase
todos cofinanciados por uma atividade industrial já existente. Portanto quando se fala do início da indústria em Loriga fala-se do início da atividade industrial e não da inauguração de uma qualquer instalação fabril (ao contrário do que dizem os ignorantes que só prejudicam a imagem de Loriga e a imagem dos Loriguenses), atualmente ainda existem muitos casos de empresas que começaram a funcionar em
garagens, barracões e outras instalações precárias, e só depois foram contruídas instalações industriais de raíz, e em Loriga isso
aconteceu também em épocas muito mais recentes. O início a ter em consideração é sempre quando a indústria ou uma empresa inicia asua atividade, ainda que seja numa cave, num barracão, numa garagem, ou em qualquer outra instalação precária, e não quando inaugura
um edifício adequado e apenas dedicado a essa atividade industrial. Loriga chegou a ser uma das localidades mais industrializadas da
Beira Interior, e Seia, a atual sede de concelho, só conseguiu suplantá-la apenas após meados do século XX. Tempos houve em que só a
Covilhã ultrapassava Loriga no número de empresas. Nomes de empresas, tais como: Regato, Redondinha, Fonte dos Amores, Tapadas,
Fândega, Leitão & Irmãos, Augusto Luís Mendes, Lamas, Nunes Brito, Moura Cabral, Lorimalhas, entre outras, fazem parte da história
industrial desta vila. A principal e maior avenida de Loriga tem o nome de Augusto Luís Mendes, um dos mais destacados industriais
loriguenses. As primeiras fábricas usavam a roda hidráulica como fonte de energia, que era transmitida através de longos veios, com
tambores e correias. A roda hidráulica é pois o símbolo maior da indústria loriguense (que fez destacar ainda mais esta vila na região) e é também o símbolo da história e das origens dessa indústria, e por isso o brasão de Loriga tem duas rodas hidráulicas. A indústria dos
lanifícios entrou em declínio durante as últimas décadas do século passado, fator que contribuiu para agravar e acelerar gravemente a
progressiva desertificação da Vila, facto que afeta de maneira geral as regiões interiores de Portugal devido a um deficiente
ordenamento do território. De sublinhar que a antiga indústria textil, surgida no início do século XIX em contexto da chamada revolução
industrial, acabou por provocar o nascimento de outros tipos de indústria em Loriga. Com o turismo a ganhar cada vez mais relevância
atualmente a economia loriguense basea-se nas indústrias metalúrgica e de panificação, no comércio, restauração, a agricultura e
pastorícia, estes dois últimos com uma importância reduzida. O turismo jamais será suficiente para sustentar uma população com níveis
aceitáveis para uma povoação que tem a categoria de vila, como é o caso de Loriga. Quem tem cinco ou mais décadas de idade e gosta de
Loriga sente uma grande dor ao ver o estado a que esta vila chegou, uma vila que já teve uma população que se contava aos milhares. A
área onde existem as freguesias de Alvoco da Serra, Cabeça, Sazes da Beira, Teixeira, Valezim, Vide, e as mais de trinta povoações anexas,
que até Outubro de 1855 faziam parte do Município Loriguense, constituíram as freguesias fundadoras da Associação de Freguesias da
Serra da Estrela, com sede na vila de Loriga. Loriga e a sua região possuem enormes potencialidades turísticas e as únicas pistas e

Documentos - Nestes e em outros documentos, publicados neste e em muitos outros sites, podem ver-se extratos da obra do historiador António Conde publicados no site oficial da vila e da Junta de Freguesia de Loriga. No canto superior esquerdo pode ver-se o logotipo da vila e da junta de freguesia que os pseudo-loriguenses quiseram eliminar por terem vergonha do nome da sua terra, o mesmo principal motivo pelo qual também quiseram eliminar a Loriga no brasão da vila. Outro forte motivo é o facto de odiarem o historiador António Conde o autor desse brasão, portanto também colocam as motivações mesquinhas pessoais acima dos interesses e da imagem de Loriga, e este vergonhoso caso da heráldica não é o único em que este tipo de gente prejudicou Loriga e a imagem dos Loriguenses em nome de ódios, invejas e outras motivações mesquinhas pessoais.
Com a sua desonestidade, incluíndo desonestidade inteletual, a sua inveja e a sua incompetência, rejeitam tudo o que conscientemente sabem que é melhor para Loriga se forem obras e ou iniciativas de Loriguenses que invejam e odeiam. Há muitos anos que este tipo de gente prejudica Loriga e é em grande parte responsável pela situação desastrosa a que chegou esta vila!
Confirmando tudo isto, chegou a uma candidatura á Junta de Freguesia de Loriga uma proposta em que o historiador António Conde disponibilizaria a sua obra sobre a história de Loriga (incluindo toda a documentação referente á pesquisa) para que a autarquia a publicasse. O historiador António Conde abdicaria dos rendimentos sobre a venda do livro referentes aos direitos de autor a favor da autarquia, assim como a quaisquer lucros obtidos com a venda do livro, e a única coisa que pedia em troca era a correção da porcaria feita com a questão da heráldica e que, para reforçar a legitimidade da iniciativa e caso os autarcas não tivessem a coragem de corrigir essa porcaria diretamente, que ganhassem essa coragem fazendo um referendo no qual consultariam todos os loriguenses, tanto os residentes na vila como os saíram para outras paragens. Na base desta proposta estava a sempre presente preocupação do historiador António Conde com a imagem da sua terra, com a imagem dos Loriguenses e neste caso também com a opinião e a vontade largamente maioritárias dos Loriguenses que rejeitam a vergonhosa heráldica. Não exigiu nada nem jamais o faria, nem quis impor a heráldica que desenhou, ao contrário desta gente que antes andou a tentar impor uma ilegal aberração heráldica e que agora anda a tentar impor uma heráldica pobre e vergonhosa odiada pela esmagadora maioria dos Loriguenses. A resposta a esta proposta foi um grande e ensurdecedor silêncio de desprezo. Há muito tempo que os invejosos capangas e lacaios do Zeca Maria proclamaram e "decretaram" que o historiador António Conde não é bem-vindo aqui em Loriga e puseram em causa a sua obra, mas quando confrontados com a proposta da publicação dessa mesma obra nem sequer responderam, concluindo-se que também são capangas e lacaios do Zeca Maria porque nem esses nem o seu dono querem nada feito por António Conde, por mais valioso que seja e ainda que seja melhor para Loriga! Aliás um capanga e lacaio do autarca Zeca Maria já tinha dito ao historiador António Conde para queimar a sua obra sobre a história de Loriga na fogueira de Natal que todos os anos é acesa junto da Igreja Matriz. Ficou assim muito reforçado o direito que o historiador António Conde já tinha de destruir a sua obra se quisesse fazê-lo. Confirma-se, e citando a Bíblia, "seria como dar pérolas a porcos", esta gente odeia o historiador António Conde e por isso rejeita tudo o que venha deste grande Loriguense (tal como de qualquer outro grande Loriguense que odeiem), por mais valioso que seja e ainda que seja melhor para Loriga! Os capangas e lacaios do Zeca Maria acham que eles e o seu dono são os donos de Loriga, e acham, afirmam, dizem e escrevem que os Loriguenses, quer gostem quer não, são obrigados a aceitar as merdas que eles fizeram e fizerem, como é o caso do Brasão da vila de Carreto! Esta gente despreza a opinião da esmagadora maioria dos loriguenses também em relação á vergonhosa heráldica, que arrasta a imagem de Loriga e a imagem dos loriguenses pela lama, porque estão literalmente cagando para Loriga e para os Loriguenses! Comprovadamente esta gente incompetente e invejosa não gosta de Loriga, apesar de mentirosamente proclamar o contrário, só gosta do seu estúpido ego e dos seus interesses mesquinhos pessoais!

Documents - In these and other documents, published on this and many other websites, you can see extracts from the work of historian António Conde published on the official website of the town and the Parish Council of Loriga. In the upper left corner you can see the logo of the village and the parish council that the pseudo-Loriguenses wanted to eliminate because they were ashamed of the name of their land, the same main reason why they also wanted to eliminate Loriga in the town's coat of arms. Another strong reason is the fact that they hate the historian António Conde, the author of this coat of arms, so they also put petty personal motivations above the interests and image of Loriga, and this shameful case of heraldry is not the only one in which this type of people damaged Loriga and the image of the people of Loriga in the name of hatred, envy and other petty personal motivations.
With their dishonesty, including intellectual dishonesty, their envy and their incompetence, they reject everything that they consciously know is best for Loriga if they are works and/or initiatives of Loriguenses that they envy and hate. For many years, this type of people has harmed Loriga and is largely responsible for the disastrous situation that this village has reached!
Confirming all this, a proposal came to an application to the Parish Council of Loriga in which the historian António Conde would make his work on the history of Loriga (including all the documentation related to the research) available for the municipality to publish. The historian António Conde would give up the income from the sale of the book referring to copyright in favor of the municipality, as well as any profits obtained from the sale of the book, and the only thing he asked for in return was the correction of the crap made with the issue of heraldry and that, to reinforce the legitimacy of the initiative and if the mayors did not have the courage to correct this crap directly, that they would win by holding a referendum in which they would consult all the people of Loriga, both the residents of the village and those who left for other places. At the basis of this proposal was the ever-present concern of the historian António Conde with the image of his land, with the image of the people of Lorigu and in this case also with the opinion and will of the vast majority of the people of Lorigu who reject the shameful heraldry. He did not demand anything and would never do so, nor did he want to impose the heraldry he designed, unlike these people who were trying to impose an illegal heraldic aberration and who are now trying to impose a poor and shameful heraldry hated by the overwhelming majority of Loriguenses. The response to this proposal was a great and deafening silence of contempt. For a long time now, Zeca Maria's envious henchmen and lackeys have proclaimed and "decreed" that the historian António Conde is not welcome here in Loriga and have questioned his work, but when confronted with the proposal to publish that same work they have not even responded, concluding that they are also Zeca Maria's henchmen and lackeys because neither they nor their owner want anything done by António Conde, as valuable as it is and even if it is better for Loriga! In fact, a henchman and lackey of the mayor Zeca Maria had already told the historian António Conde to burn his work on the history of Loriga in the Christmas bonfire that is lit every year next to the Mother Church. This greatly strengthened the right that the historian António Conde already had to destroy his work if he wanted to do so. LORIGA

Loriga (pron.PT [lo'ɾigɐ]) is a town and parish in the municipality of Seia, district of Guarda, in the province of Beira Alta, in the central region and sub-region of Serra da Estrela, Portugal. It has an area of 36.52 km² and 848 inhabitants (2021 census), its population density is 23.2 inhabitants/km² and it has an annexed village, Fontão. It is part of the Serra da Estrela Natural Park. These envious people, in their eagerness to contradict and try to erase the work of the targets of their envy, resort to everything, not caring about the fact that along the way they are damaging the image of their land and the image of their countrymen, and as they do not have enough neurons or knowledge to invent credible theories, they end up being badly seen, and this idiocy is just one of a long list of cases in which these people call everything into question, from the name of their land to the history, heritage and heraldry of this beautiful, ancient and historic village. The Bairro de São Ginês e or Genês (nicknames given by the people of Loriga to São Gens) is an ex-libris of Loriga and in it stands out the chapel of Nossa Senhora do Carmo, an old Visigothic hermitage precisely dedicated to that saint. Saint Gens is a saint of Celtic origin, martyred in Arles in Gaul, in the time of Emperor Diocletian. Over the centuries, the people of Lorigu changed the name of the saint to Saint Ginese, perhaps because it was easier to pronounce. When the Romans arrived, the village was divided into two nuclei. The largest, oldest and most important, was located in the area where today there is the Mother Church and part of Rua de Viriato and was fortified with walls and a palisade. In the place of the current Bairro de São Ginês (nickname given by the There were already some houses leaning against the rocky promontory, on top of which the Visigoths later built a hermitage dedicated to that saint, and which is currently dedicated to Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

From the twelfth century to the present day

Loriga has had the category of county seat since the twelfth century, having received charters in 1136 (João Rhânia, lord of the Lands of
Loriga for about two decades, in the reign of D. Afonso Henriques), 1249 (D. Afonso III), 1474 (D. Afonso V) and 1514 (D. Manuel I). It supported the Absolutists against the Liberals in the Portuguese Civil War in the nineteenth century and this fact contributed to ceasing to be the county seat in 1855, after the application of the territorial planning plan carried out during the nineteenth century, curiously the same plan that gave rise to the Districts. Loriga is an old parish, once belonging to the Egyptian Diocese in the Visigothic era, at the beginning of the nationality it belonged to the Vicariate of the Royal Patronage and the Mother Church was built in 1233 by King D. Sancho II. This church, whose patron saint was that of Santa Maria Maior, and which remains, was built on the site of another old and small Visigothic temple, also dedicated to Our Lady, from which a stone with Visigothic inscriptions was used, which is placed on the side
door facing the churchyard, it was on this stone that they engraved the date of construction (1233). Romanesque in style, with three naves, with dimensions identical to the current ones, and exterior design reminiscent of the Old Cathedral of Coimbra, this church was destroyed by the earthquake of 1755, leaving only parts of the side walls and another masonry. Now that the mother church is free of the exterior plaster that unfortunately covered it for many years, the masonry helps to reveal the antiquity and the changes made over the more than eight hundred years of history of this temple, including the most drastic changes made after the earthquake of 1755. The earthquake of 1755 caused enormous damage in the village, having also ruined the parish residence and opened some cracks in the robust and thick walls of the City Hall building built in the thirteenth century. An emissary of the Marquis of Pombal was in Loriga to assess the damage but, unlike what happened with Covilhã, another mountain town very affected, no help has arrived from the government in Lisbon. Loriga is an industrial village , linked to the textile sector, since the first half of the nineteenth century, being the evolution of an activity that already existed in artisanal molds in the thirteenth century. It is necessary to underline that the old industrial facilities were large buildings built in masonry that with the existing means at the time were slow to complete and the largest were almost all co-financed by an already existing industrial activity. Therefore, when we talk about the beginning of the industry in Loriga, we are talking about the beginning of industrial activity and not the inauguration of any manufacturing facility (contrary to what the ignorant say, who only damage the image of Loriga and the image of the people of Loriga), currently there are still many cases of companies that started operating in garages, sheds and other precarious facilities, and only later were industrial facilities built from scratch, and in Loriga this also happened in much more recent. The beginning to be taken into consideration is always when the industry or a company starts its activity, even if it is in a basement, a shed, a garage, or any other precarious facility, and not when it inaugurates a suitable building dedicated only to that industrial activity. Loriga became one of the most industrialized localities in
Beira Interior, and Seia, the current county seat, only managed to supplant it after the middle of the twentieth century. Company names, such as: Regato, Redondinha, Fonte dos Amores, Tapadas, Fândega, Leitão & Irmãos, Augusto Luís Mendes, Lamas, Nunes Brito, Moura Cabral, Lorimalhas, among others, are part of the industrial history of this village. The main and largest avenue in Loriga is named after Augusto Luís Mendes, one of the most outstanding industrialists in Loriga. The first factories used the hydraulic wheel as a source of power, which was transmitted through long shafts, with drums and belts. The hydraulic wheel is therefore the greatest symbol of the industry of Loriga (which made this village in the region stand out even more) and is also the symbol of the history and origins of this industry, and therefore the coat of arms of Loriga has two hydraulic wheels. The wool industry went into decline during the last decades of the last century, a factor that contributed to aggravate and seriously accelerate the progressive desertification of the village, a fact that affects the interior regions of Portugal in general due to poor land planning. It should be noted that the old textile industry, which emerged in the early nineteenth century in the context of the so-called industrial Revolution , ended up causing the birth of other types of industry in Loriga. With tourism gaining more and more relevance today, the economy of Loriga is based on the metallurgical and bakery industries, commerce, catering, agriculture and pastoralism, the latter two with a reduced importance. Tourism will never be enough to sustain a population with acceptable levels for a village that has the category of village, as is the case of Loriga. Those who are five or more decades old and like Loriga feel great pain when they see the state to which this village has come, a village that once had a population that numbered in the thousands. The area where there are the parishes of Alvoco da Serra, Cabeça, Sazes da Beira, Teixeira, Valezim, Vide, and the more than thirty annexed villages, which until October 1855 were part of the Municipality of Loriguense, constituted the founding parishes of the Association of Parishes of Serra da Estrela, headquartered in the village of Loriga. Loriga and its region have enormous tourist potential and the only slopes and ski resorts in Portugal are located in the area of the parish of Loriga.

Documents - In these and other documents, published on this and many other websites, you can see extracts from the work of historian António Conde published on the official website of the town and the Parish Council of Loriga. In the upper left corner you can see the logo of the village and the parish council that the pseudo-Loriguenses wanted to eliminate because they were ashamed of the name of their land, the same main reason why they also wanted to eliminate Loriga in the town's coat of arms. Another strong reason is the fact that they hate the historian António Conde, the author of this coat of arms, so they also put petty personal motivations above the interests and image of Loriga, and this shameful case of heraldry is not the only one in which this type of people damaged Loriga and the image of the people of Loriga in the name of hatred, envy and other petty personal motivations.
With their dishonesty, including intellectual dishonesty, their envy and their incompetence, they reject everything that they consciously know is best for Loriga if they are works and/or initiatives of Loriguenses that they envy and hate. For many years, this type of people has harmed Loriga and is largely responsible for the disastrous situation that this village has reached!
Confirming all this, a proposal came to an application to the Parish Council of Loriga in which the historian António Conde would make his work on the history of Loriga (including all the documentation related to the research) available for the municipality to publish. The historian António Conde would give up the income from the sale of the book referring to copyright in favor of the municipality, as well as any profits obtained from the sale of the book, and the only thing he asked for in return was the correction of the crap made with the issue of heraldry and that, to reinforce the legitimacy of the initiative and if the mayors did not have the courage to correct this crap directly, that they would gain this courage by holding a referendum in which they would consult all the people of Lorigu, both the residents of the village and those who left for other places. At the basis of this proposal was the ever-present concern of the historian António Conde with the image of his land, with the image of the people of Lorigu and in this case also with the opinion and will of the vast majority of the people of Lorigu who reject the shameful heraldry. He did not demand anything and would never do so, nor did he want to impose the heraldry he designed, unlike these people who were trying to impose an illegal heraldic aberration and who are now trying to impose a poor and shameful heraldry hated by the overwhelming majority of Loriguenses. The response to this proposal was a great and deafening silence of contempt. For a long time now, Zeca Maria's envious henchmen and lackeys have proclaimed and "decreed" that the historian António Conde is not welcome here in Loriga and have questioned his work, but when confronted with the proposal to publish that same work they have not even responded, concluding that they are also Zeca Maria's henchmen and lackeys because neither they nor their owner want anything done by António Conde, as valuable as it is and even if it is better for Loriga! In fact, a henchman and lackey of the mayor Zeca Maria had already told the historian António Conde to burn his work on the history of Loriga in the Christmas bonfire that is lit every year next to the Mother Church. The right that the historian António Conde already had to destroy his work was thus greatly strengthened. wanted to do so. It is confirmed, and quoting the Bible, "it would be like giving pearls to pigs", these people hate the historian António Conde and therefore reject everything that comes from this great Loriguense (as well as from any other great Loriguense they hate), no matter how valuable it is and even if it is better for Loriga! Zeca Maria's henchmen and lackeys think that they and their owner are the owners of Loriga, and they think, affirm, say and write that the people of Loriga, whether they like it or not, are obliged to accept the shit they did and did, as is the case of the coat of arms of the village of Carreto! These people despise the opinion of the overwhelming majority of Loriguenses also in relation to the shameful heraldry, which drags the image of Loriga and the image of the Loriguenses through the mud, because they are literally on Loriga and the Loriguenses! Demonstrably these incompetent and envious people do not like Loriga, despite falsely proclaiming the opposite, they only like their stupid ego and their petty personal interests!
